Gadang acquires land in Kwasa Damansara to undertake residential project

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 28): Gadang Holdings Bhd is acquiring a 21.08-acre land in Kwasa Damansara for RM114.78 million, or RM125 per square feet, to be developed into a residential project.

The group is acquiring the land via its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary Elegance Sonata Sdn Bhd (ESSB) from Kwasa Development (3) Sdn Bhd (KD3), said Gadang in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday.

A sum of RM76.40 million has already been paid by ESSB to KD3, as part of a development rights agreement entered into by the two parties in 2017. This forms part of the payment toward the purchase price.

Lintau plant begins commercial OP

KUALA LUMPUR: Gadang Holdings Bhd has started commercial operations of its nine megawatt (MW) mini hydropower plant in Lintau, Tanah Datar in West Sumatera.

The mini hydropower plant will generate a steady source of income over the long term, according to Gadang’s wholly-owned Regional Utilities Sdn Bhd managing director Foo Mieng Yong.

Foo said the first 4.5 MW run-of-river hydro power house unit of the plant was successfully synced with state-owned utility firm Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) distribution grid system in Balai Tangah, Lintau Buo, via a 4km overhead 20 kV transmission line after testing and commissioning were completed this year.
